1. Services Offered

  1. Referrals, Assessment, and Academic Accommodations: Students interested in information related to the assessment of suspected learning disabilities may contact one the specialist counselors, who can arrange referral for assessment of learning disabilities and ADHD where needed. Only current evaluations from a Technion recognized assessment center will be considered valid. Students will be expected to finance their evaluations. Students who hold a valid assessment from a Technion recognized assessment center will be required to meet with one of our learning disabilities counsellors – and bring their evaluation with them. It should be noted that accommodations are granted on the basis of diagnostic label and Technion criteria. Students who are approved academic accommodations will be provided with an official letter from the Dean of Students outlining recommended exam conditions. Students are expected to carry this letter with them.
  2. Academic and Personal Assistance: We provide general information on learning disabilities, their consequences and how best to deal with the difficulties. In addition, you can receive personal counselling on improving learning skills such as time management, learning strategies and coping with exams.
  3. Tutoring Services: Where needed, personal tutoring services are available, provided through student tutors. Technion may partially subsidize these services for students with learning disabilities.
  4. Workshops: Throughout the semester, the Unit offers a wide range of workshops on how to improve learning skills.

2. Academic accessibility support center
Students diagnosed with learning disabilities and ADHD are eligible to use assistive technology, located on the center. Allowances to use these facilities are given only by the learning disabilities counselors.
